Sanger ISD..what we are all about!
Sanger ISD comprises of 106.91 square miles and currently serves just a little over 2700 students representing a diverse population. We have excellent schools with a long history of high academic achievement. Academically, our students, faculty, and staff are united as we strive for excellence in all endeavors. We have exceptional teachers and staff members who are energetic, enthusiastic and dedicated to the success of all students. We are very proud of our schools and the wonderful things that are constantly occurring everyday throughout our classrooms. Our students are learning while experiencing great change in the educational learning beyond the limitations of our local classroom walls. In 2011 Sanger ISD implemented a one on one ratio of laptops for all high school students and iPads for all middle school students. Each of our Elementary campuses and our Sixth grade campus have mobile electronic device carts so that students routinely use technology to assist with reading strategies and to become stronger mathematicians. They connect to the world through the use of interactive whiteboards and access to all types of electronic learning opportunities. Our elementary students are learning how to program robots while our middle school students explore technology through 3D printing and learning. Our High School students explore science classes centered around green energy through a grant made possible by the Sanger Education Foundation for a wind turbine located at Sanger High School. Sanger ISD provides not only an rigorous academic platform for our students but also a board variety of extracurricular activities. These activities include competitive Bass Fishing, Theater Arts, Band, Animal Science, and scholastic sports of football, baseball, softball, volleyball, tennis, golf, basketball. track and cross country.
As a school district we encourage parents and community members to be actively involved in activities and programs at all of our schools. We have a very active Educational Foundation as well as Campus Parent Teacher Organizations with representatives at all campuses whose mission are to enhance the educational programs by supporting our school, encouraging parent involvement, supporting teachers, and organizing family events. The Sanger Community and area business partners are also active partners within Sanger ISD through a variety of academic programs. Programs such as mentoring, reading buddies, classroom volunteers, business program presenters, career awareness days, STEM program volunteers, field day assistants, and as a District of Innovation, can be utilized as career instructors.
