Student Scholarship Award Past Recipients

The Sanger Education Foundation is honored and privileged to maintain and administer our family of scholarships on behalf of those who have lost loved ones or to honor those whose legacy lives within each of us.   It is with great honor that the Foundation awards the following student scholarships.

 

Chelsea Bulger Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Sanger High School who has participated their senior year in volleyball or golf with preference being given to student attending a two year junior college.  The scholarship was established by Mark and Renee Bulger in October 2008.

2020 scholarship recipient is Megan Helm.

 

Billy Craig Dennis Memorial Scholarship was created by the friends and family of Billy Craig Dennis with stewardship placed within the foundation in 2007.  This fully endowed scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Sanger High School who enrolls in a college or trade school with the interest of pursuing a career in agriculture.

2020 scholarship was awarded to Lillian Links

 

Martin Villanueva Attendance Scholarship is a  fully endowed scholarship which is awarded to a graduating senior with the fewest absences.  The scholarship was created by the classmates of Martin Villanueva (Class of 1979) and placed within the foundation for stewardship in 2009.

The 2020 scholarship was awarded to Faith Larkin.

 

Linda Tutt Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Linda Tutt High School.  Recipient must pursue higher education and/or vocational training.  This fully endowed scholarship is awarded annually by family and friends and was placed within the foundation in November 2009.

The 2020 scholarship was awarded to Alexander DeLeon

Clovis Crockett Memorial Scholarship was created by the Class of 1928 in memory of their classmate.  This academic scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior with priority given to extenuating circumstances of family situations that could affect their pursuit of higher education.  Presently this scholarship is independently funded by First United Bank of Sanger until fully endowed.

The 2020 scholarship was awarded to Whitney Clay.

 

Bradley Mitchell Memorial Scholarship was created by Shane and Cindy Brummett in memory of Bradley in January of 2013.  This memorial scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior pursuing college, trade school or a licensed certification who exhibits strong character strengths in leadership, guidance and capacity of caring about others.

The 2020 scholarship was awarded unfortunately not awarded.

 

Stephen Baker Memorial Scholarship is a  fully endowed scholarship which is given annually to a graduating senior from Sanger High School who has lettered in at least two varsity sports, maintained an A-B average and demonstrated leadership, strength or character and sportsman like conduct both on and off the field/court/track.  Established by Friends, Teammates and the Classmates of Stephen with stewardship placed within the foundation in December 2009.

The 2020 scholarship was awarded to Dale Gleason.

Roman Juarez Memorial Scholarship was created by CoServ Electric in memory of Roman Juarez in February 2008.  This fully endowed scholarship is awarded to a meritorious college bound senior who participated in a sports activity.

The 2020 scholarship was awarded to Allison Bloom.

 

Rusty Higgs Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship which is given annually to a graduating senior from Sanger High School who will be attending a four year university or college or a Junior College.  The Scholarship was established in memory Rusty by friends, classmates and family and placed within the foundation in 2017.

The 2020 scholarship was awarded to Kavan Billiott.

Miguel Garza “Love and Light” Memorial Scholarship was created by Rena Garza in memory of Miguel in August 2016.  This fully endowed scholarship is awarded to a College bound senior who best exemplifies a love for life, values true friendship and can bring a smile to brighten any situation.  Recipient must have participated in either Football or Softball. .

The 2020 scholarship was awarded to Zachary Bowles.

 

Joe & Elizabeth Higgs Spirit of Sanger is awarded annually to a graduating senior from Sanger High School who demonstrates leadership through academic success, extrra-curricular and community engagements.  The award recognizes a student who has enhanced the spirit and pride of Sanger in both school and community of Sanger.

The 2020 scholarship was awarded to Lexi Scobee.

The Purple Pride Scholarship was created by Mr. Kent and Dr. Christy Crutsinger  in December 2016.  This fully endowed scholarship is awarded to a College bound senior who best exemplifies demonstrates leadership through academic success, extracurricular and community engagement.  The award highlights an individual who has enhanced the Spirit and Pride of Sanger in both school and within the community.

The 2020 scholarship was awarded to Elizabeth Sykora.

 

CoServ Charitable Foundation awarded a graduating senior from Sanger High School who demonstrates strong character, leadership and overall academic success.

The 2020 scholarship was awarded to Kielee Whitewood.

  The Carol Danner and Family Scholarship was created by Mr. Mike Danner in Honor of Carol  in May 2017 recognizing Carol’s long time  tenure in Sanger ISD .  This fully endowed scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior entering a 4 year college or university with the interest of majoring in one of the STEM fields or pursing a degree in education within a STEM field.

2020 Recipient ~ Trace Lyon

 

The Rowdy Pursur Memorial Scholarship is  was created by fellow classmate, Drew Hall, and Hall Real Estate.   The Rowdy Pursur Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who participated in athletics in general, lettering in at least two sports, and demonstrates good character on and off the field, court and track.

The 2020 scholarship was awarded to Kielee Whitewood.

  The Alta Holder Lovell Scholarship is currently underdevelopment by SHS Ex-Student Association and current SISD Staff in honor of the longest continually awarded scholarship within SISD and the Sanger Community.  Until fully established, First United Bank of Sanger is awarding the scholarship
