Sanger Education Foundation Board of Directors

 Brad Isbell – Board President – Eikon Consulting Group, Inc. 

EikonCGBrad Isbell was born in Valley View, Texas and received his bachelor’s and master’s degree in engineering from Texas A&M University. Upon graduation Brad Isbell joined his family’s Sanger based business in 2001. Currently he serves as president of EIKON Consulting Group, an Architecture and Engineering firm providing services in the North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. He has been President-in-Charge for large, multi discipline projects involving the coordination of sub-consultant teams with diverse stakeholder participation.  His expertise is in structural engineering with project experience including structural modeling, building assessment, construction administration, site observation, and complete project management. Project experiences include the fields of education, sports, governmental, commercial, and healthcare. Dee Dee Peterson, VP Event Development – Board Secretary – DATCU Credit Union 

DeeDee1Dee Dee is a lifelong resident of Sanger graduating from Sanger High School.  Dee Dee began her career in Banking in 1995 and has been at DATCU since 2005.  She is a graduate of Southwest CUNA Management School and is Vice President of Branch Operations overseeing daily operations of 11 branch locations throughout the North Texas area.  She serves as a volunteer for United Way of Denton County and Interfaith Ministries Apple Tree Project. In 2013 Dee Dee served as a committee member of the Community Relations Committee and moved to a Board of Directors position in 2014.  Currently she serves as Board Secretary and Vice President of Community Relations and Chair of the Community Relations Committee.  For more information about DATCU visit: DATCU.org


Dennis Dillon, VP Investment  – Treasurer

DennisDillonDennis grew up in Northeast  Arkansas graduating from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in accounting in 1970. He retired in 1995 from Moore Business Forms and began a small business accounting and bookkeeping service.  Dennis has lived in Sanger since 2005.  He is an active member of he Sanger Community, serving in capacities at his church, Sanger Planning & Zoning Commission and the Sanger Lions Club.  He joined the Sanger Education Foundation in 2014 as a member of the Investment Committee, joining the Board of Directors in 2015 as VP Investment and Treasurer. Dennis will tell you that living in a small community such as Sanger, it has been easy to see the difference the foundation makes for the children of Sanger ISD.  

Guy Jones, VP Marketing Development – G & L Finanicial Strategies, Inc.                               

G JonesGuy W. Jones, established his insurance agency in 1982. In the beginning his primary product offering was Auto, Home and Life insurance. In 1983 He became a Registered Representative for Securtites Management and Research, Inc. (SM&R) expanding his product offering to Mutual Funds and Variable Contracts. In 1998, Guy achieved the Ceritifed FInancial Planner, CFP, designation, and in 2014 earned the Retirement Income Certified Professional, RICP designation. Thus expanding the services he is able to provide. With the sale of SM&R to Berthel Fisher & Company in 2010, Guy is now able to offer a full line of investment opportunities.

 

Carol Danner, VP Programs

Carol Danner holds a master’s degree from the University of North Texas and in 2019 retired from Sanger ISD after teaching math at Sanger High School for 40 years.  Carol and her husband Mike have been married 43 years and have 2 exceptional daughters, 2 incredible sons-in-law, and 2 outstanding grandsons.  carol loves her Sanger school family, and when asked will tell your she is greatly pleased to be able to give back to the community and teaching staff of Sanger ISD through her involvement in the Sanger Education Foundation.

 

Justin Walton, At- Large – Texas Accessibility Solutions

Justin Walton Head ShotJustin Walton is a Registered Accessibility Specialist who provides architectural and engineering plan review and inspection services for commercial projects all over Texas to ensure they comply with The Americans with Disability Act.  His clients include Sprout’s, Costco, 7-Eleven, Pizza-Hut, and many other private and public entities, including The State of Texas.  Justin moved to Sanger in 2007 with his wife, Mariah.  He has served on the Administration Committee for the Sanger Education Foundation since 2016.  He also serves as the Treasurer for the Sanger Softball Association.  During the spring and fall, Justin can be found at the Porter Sports Complex at least 3 nights a week, coaching first base for his daughters softball team.  He is excited about future growth of the Sanger Education Foundation, and what that can bring to our students.  www.Texas-Accessibility.com

 

Dixie Berry,  At-Large – North Texas Print Solutions

Dixie BerryDixie Berry is a proud alumni of Sanger High School, having attended UNT on a Basketball scholarship.  Mrs. Berry graduated from University of North Texas with a Bachelors degree in Recreation.  For the last 23 years Dixie has worked extensively in building a successful career in Marketing and Print Publications offering a range of marketing and print services to clients throughout the North Texas area.  In April 2014 Dixie created and opened North Texas Print Solutions catering to all types of the marketing, print and advertising needs of her clients. In addition, Dixie has volunteered throughout Denton County serving as a  CASA Board of Director for over 15 years, served on 2 Community Committees within United Way of Denton County for 3 years and has served as both a SEF Public Relations Committee Member and a Board Member for over 10 years.  For additional information about Dixie and North Texas Print Solutions visit North Texas Print Solutions.

 

Jeff Springer,  At-Large – Springer/Lyle, Attorneys at Law

Jeff Springer is a practicing attorney at Springer-Lyle Law firm. He has taught law as an adjunct Headshot 2014-1professor at both UNT and TWU. Jeff stays active with his family, church and community.  He regularly teaches youth Sunday school at First UMC Denton and has served on a number of charitable boards and in other leadership positions. Jeff was passionate in sharing his vision and insight with two others leading to the creation of the foundation.   His leadership lead to developing an exploratory steering committee establishing the original Founding Board of Directors in which he served as Founding President until 2010. In 2011 Jeff served as Vice President Administration until 2012.  After a two-year break he returned to the board in 2015 and loves how the Foundation allows him to spread his enthusiasm for Sanger’s educators and children. Valerie Foster, CEFL, Foundation Executive Director

2017 Headshot Hi Resolution CompressedValerie was one of three who envisioned the formation of the foundation and was instrumental in the organization and development of the Sanger Education Foundation and brings over 25 years of experience in non-profit fundraising.  In 1999 Mrs. Foster was chosen as recipient of Heroes for Children for contributions and dedication to public education by The State Board of Education.   She was awarded Citizen of the Year by the Sanger Area Chamber of Commerce in 2005 and again in 2013.   She is an honorary Member of both the Rotary Club of Sanger and Lion’s Club. Most recently Valerie was awarded the 2014 Spirit Award as a Heart and Hero’s Recipient for her non-profit work in Denton County from Health Services of North Texas. Mrs. Foster earned her CEFL in 2016 from NSFA and the Sanford Educational Center at National University.  Since 2012 Valerie serves on the Texas Education Foundation Network Conference Committee and holds memberships with TSPRA and NSFA.
