Community Events
The Education Foundation has three main opportunities each year to raise funds for the Grant Initiative programs in addition to participating in community awareness opportunities. Community awareness currently consists in participating in Sanger Homecoming Parade and Sanger Sellebration. Fundraising opportunities consist of an Annual Employee Contribution Campaign which gives district staff an opportunity to make tax-deductable contribution in support of their colleagues and the instructional initiatives they create. In addition the foundation traditionally holds annually a Chili Challenge in the fall and a Gala event in the spring. These two events bring everyone together to raise an awareness of the foundation's mission and help raise the necessary contributions to award teacher grants and student scholarships. The Chili Challenge is held in the fall of each year and brings teachers, community business and families together in a taste testing contest for best overall chili, best decorated booth and best in each division. Tickets go on Sale beginning in late September or early October for $5.00 per person with children under 5 free. Tickets are also available for purchase with all entrees and at the door. See “Chili Challenge” section above for additional details and information.
“The Gift that Keeps on Giving Gala”. This event is held in the spring and brings donors, teachers, community leaders, area businesses, district staff and guests together to dine, celebrate and raise contributions during this very special evening. The dinner event includes an engaging live auction, a big board interactive auction, a huge silent auction plus a fabulous dinner and wine pull. Event Tickets go on sale in late January for $50.00 per person or $600.00 as a table sponsor for 8. Tickets are available by clicking “Partners and Contributions” and contacting foundation office for reserve or purchase tickets. See “The Gift that Keeps on Giving Gala” section above for additional details and information.
