Donor Giving Opportunities
2011-2012 Sanger Education Foundation Endowment Campaign
The Sanger Education Foundation is seeking individuals who are passionate about continuing the legacy of educating the students of Sanger ISD and leaving their footprint for the future of all Sanger ISD children. You can make a difference in the life of a child right in your own neighborhood, and we can help you make it happen!
  • Sanger Education Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) organization created to support and enhance the educational of all students in the Sanger Independent School District.
  • Sanger Education Foundation is governed by 9 Board of Directors representing a cross-section of citizens who are dedicated to education and share a vision for excellence in our schools. All Committee members and Board of Directors volunteer their time to serve the foundation and support our schools.
  • Since 2007, the Sanger Education Foundation has funded over $292,000.00 back into our schools, directly to the teachers and students through Teacher Initiatives, District Initiatives and Student Scholarships.
  • Grant money is awarded every spring directly to district staff who meets our guidelines outlining a specific plan to utilize funding in their classroom, on their campus or as a district wide initiative.
Here is where you build for tomorrow:
Foundation Fellows Program: On January 2011 the Development Committee introduced the “Fellows Program” to donors through Foundation Newsletter and again at the Annual Gala. The Fellow’s Program is designed for donors to contribute over a 5 year time span to fullfill their commitment in establishing a foundation fellow. There are four levels of participation; Bronze, (1,000.00), Silver, (2500.00) Gold (5,000) and Platimum (10,000) with all contributions permanently restricted to the General Endowment fund. A minimum gift of $1,000 to the foundation’s general endowment is required to become a fellow or to name a fellow in honor or in memory of someone. Foundation Fellows will be recognized at an annual event/reception, on the foundation website and in the foundation’s annual newletter. All Fellows will also receive a specially designed lapel pin presented at an annual event distinishing themselves as a “Foundation Fellow” and prominent permanent recognition in the form of a lighted pathway walk, which will be located in the general vicinity of the founding donor monument.

Endowment Challenge: Kevin Murphy issued a very special challenge to those of us who had the opportunity to personally know Linda Tutt, to those of us who know Linda’s family today and to those who graduated from Linda Tutt High School. Eight years ago, Mr. Murphy became acquainted with the Tutt Family and while, he did not know Linda, was inspired by her life-long commitment to students and her tenacious spirit. Mr. Murphy noted in his challenge to match dollar for dollar up to $10,000.00 that “I am pleased to support the Linda Tutt Memorial Scholarship with a multi-year challenge grant that enables non-traditional high school graduates to pursue their education and their dreams. Some students need the individual attention and extra time to formulate their aspirations and initiate action. The Linda Tutt Memorial Student Scholarship is the perfect means of supporting those students’ dreams.” To simply double your contribution, direct any size contribution to the Linda Tutt Memorial Scholarship.

Our Heritage Endowments: Clovis Crockett Memorial Student Scholarship & Stephen Baker Memorial Student Scholarship. The Sanger Education Foundation became the permanent home to both beloved Student Scholarships in 2010-2011 and is honored to continue their legacy to the Sanger Community. Both of these scholarships need your help! To ensure their perpetual funding, they need to become fully endowed this year. With your contribution, you could help assure that they will continue to be awarded. Any contribution of any size will make a difference to their legacy. Just make a notation to direct your contribution to the scholarship of your choice. It really is that easy!

Finally, if you have a passion for education, a vision for students, or simply a desire to leave your footprint on the superior education for the children of Sanger, you may want to consider establishing an endowment or Legacy Gift. An Endowment is a donor directed contribution which aligns with program initiatives in fine arts, music, vocational programs, math, technology, language arts and science. A Legacy Gift is a donation which can be directed through Wills or Estate Planning. By establishing an endowment or leaving a Legacy Gift, your passion could not only fulfill your vision but would ensure educational programs and student opportunities are in place for all future generations of Sanger.

By joining the campaign today, you can partner with us and be a part of the foundation. You can establish a lifelong legacy that reaches generations to come. You could join us for many tomorrows in awarding teacher grants funded by you today! You could send a student into their future, better prepared for their tomorrow. How little or how much you want to be involved is up to you.

Planned Giving Community Presentations
Coming in the April 2012, The Sanger Education Foundation, in partnership with University of North Texas Foundation Division of Advancement of Gift Planning will host an informational session of Legacy Bequests and Planned Giving.
